Children paint agriculture
“Kinder malen Landwirtschaft” (Children paint agriculture) – children from primary schools in Husum and Ratzeburg, in Germany, painted pictures with farming and agriculture themes.
Selected designs were printed on the tarpaulin of 3 of our trucks, which are be on the road in the federal states Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
With this initiative ATR Landhandel wants to raise awareness and gain appreciation for agriculture – particularly in our sales regions.
The initiative was welcomed in the primary schools in Ratzeburg and the third-grade-classes of the Iven-Agßen-School in Husum and more than 160 pictures were submitted. Class 3a of the primary school in Ratzeburg won the competition in Ratzeburg. In Husum, class 3b of the Iven-Agßen-School was the most convincing.
The classes won a visit to an agricultural enterprise in their region. The primary school children from Ratzeburg visited Hans-Heinrich Stooß’s farm in Hornstorf on July 12, 2015.
The class from Husum visited Anke and Carsten Clausen’s business (www.clausenfarms.de) in Osterhever on July 16, 2015. On each of the farms the children learned more about crops and the products they are used for. They gained insight into modern livestock farming, including a tour of the milking parlour and a visit to the calves.
To remember the day, a group photo shooting with a ready-designed truck was taken at the Iven-Agßen-school afterwards.
